Nikolaj Daugberg, Head of Sales at Compass Group, was in charge of the dialogue up until the final choice of partner. When asked to give reason for the University of Copenhagen’s selection of partner, Nikolaj emphasise Compass Group’s huge knowledge of generation-specific food and snacking solutions.
“At CSS there’s a great mix of both generation B, X, Y and Z. The combination of those individual needs, habits and mealtimes, requires that our food range is attractive to each generation – throughout the day. We’ll therefore create a welcoming environment if you want to stay a little longer, and when time is short we’ll make sure the process runs even more smoothly. Our expertise in these areas has definitely played a huge role in CSS’ selection of partner”.
From municipal hospital to university
CSS is located in three different buildings at the former Copenhagen Municipal Hospital at Øster Farimagsgade in the middle of the centre with two campus restaurants and a café. Chartwells is already managing and running the canteens at the University of Copenhagen’s department, Science, which is located in Frederiksberg and Nørrebro. Nikolaj Daugberg adds:
“KU (University of Copenhagen, red.) has already partnered up with us once before so it’s a huge acknowledgment that they have chosen us yet again”.
In total more than 20,000 of University of Copenhagen’s many students, employees and guests will from 1 May 2017 enjoy Chartwells’ generation-specific food- and snacking solutions.
