Five kilometres and a sense of community across Compass Group

Colleagues from near and far turned up in large numbers for the DHL Relay Race in Copenhagen on Friday.

For some, it meant five kilometres in running shoes, for others a walk, while the rest cheered from the sidelines – but what everyone had in common was that the DHL Relay Race once again provided an opportunity to come together across Compass Group.

It was also a chance for colleagues who do not see each other every day to say hello, have a chat and spend time together outside their usual surroundings.

One of them is Kristine Benn, who is a Head Chef at one of our client sites. For her, the evening was a great opportunity to meet colleagues she would not normally see in her day-to-day work.

“It is a different way of spending time with your colleagues, and it means a lot to be able to meet at an event like the DHL Relay Race. When we come together like this, you really get the feeling that we are one team,” she says.

After the race, our colleagues in our production kitchen had, of course, prepared a delicious meal. The menu included grilled porchetta, grilled young chicken breast, carrot purée, stracciatella with cherry tomatoes, new potatoes and focaccia – a great opportunity to gather and enjoy the evening together.

And that is exactly one of the things we value about the DHL Relay Race. It is not just about being the first to cross the finish line, but about being part of a community where we cheer each other on and create great experiences together.

A huge thank you to all colleagues who cheered, walked or ran the five kilometres. And a special thank you to our colleagues for providing such delicious food.

Together, we create the best everyday experiences!
