Wednesday marks Uniform at Work Day, organised by InterForce Denmark to honour the many reservists and volunteers serving in the Danish Armed Forces, the Home Guard, the Danish Emergency Management Agency and municipal emergency services.
At a time when security, preparedness and defence are receiving increased attention across society, their contribution is more important than ever.
At Compass Group, we are proud that both our CEO, Thomas Kempf, and our Client Success Director, Janus Rønstrup, are part of the Danish Armed Forces Reserve.
For Thomas Kempf, this commitment has been part of his life for 39 years. Most recently, he participated in weapons handling training just two weeks ago.
“Being part of the reserve is a constant reminder of who stands on the front line and who carries out the work that ultimately makes the difference. It creates tremendous respect for those who fulfil the mission. I bring that respect into Compass Group as well, where our employees working with customers are the ones who truly make a difference every day,” says Thomas Kempf.
For Janus Rønstrup, who serves with the Bornholm Regiment and is currently completing a battalion course for reserve officers, the commitment is about purpose and community.
“For me, it is about contributing to something bigger than myself. We live in a time when security and preparedness matter more than they have for many years, and that makes my role in the reserve feel even more meaningful. At the same time, it offers a unique sense of community and valuable experiences that also make me stronger in my civilian work.”
On Uniform at Work Day, we pay tribute to the many reservists and volunteers who, alongside their jobs, studies and family life, help strengthen Denmark’s defence and emergency preparedness.
