Compass Group has launched two new Compass bikes

It was much more than a bike day

Recently, Compass Group’s Student Advisory Board gathered colleagues outside the headquarters to mark the launch of our two new Compass bikes.

One of the main purposes of the day was to highlight the benefits of choosing the bike for shorter trips.

“We wanted to create a day that focused on the advantages of cycling for short distances. You might as well use one of our bikes instead of the car when heading to a nearby meeting. It’s both faster and cheaper,” says Signe Nyholm, Business Analyst and member of Compass Group’s Student Advisory Board.

At the same time, Compass Group employees could have their own bikes serviced by Medvind, an organisation that works to help socially vulnerable people gain a foothold in the labour market.

Laura Madsen, Social Media & Content Manager at Compass Group, was the first to use one of the bikes for a client visit:

“It took me 10 minutes by bike. It would have taken longer just to find a parking spot. It simply makes more sense than driving when we’re just getting around the city. And a bit of fresh air during the workday certainly doesn’t hurt employee wellbeing. Investing in bikes while also partnering with Medvind on the same day just makes really good sense to me.”

Henrik Smedegaard Mortensen, founder of Medvind and one of its supported employees, also gave a presentation about Medvind’s work and vision:

“It was great to help shine a light on cycling as a good alternative to driving, while also experiencing how curious Compass Group employees were about our work.”

One of the supported employees at Medvind, Morten, described the importance of having a job in powerful words:

“Just feeling that you’re not alone. And that someone appreciates your work.”

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make it a meaningful event.
