24 of our great colleagues at Compass Group participated last Friday in Denmark’s largest 24-hour fundraising and team-building event, Cycling4cancer, organized by Charity for Cancer.
At Compass Group, we sponsored one of the 140 bikes for the event, giving our colleagues the opportunity to actively support this important cause. One by one, they hopped on the bike for an hour of intense effort, with each lap completed with both sweat and smiles, while raising money for the cause.
Our Operations Director, Martin Brandt, was the first to jump on the bike, and he says:
“The atmosphere at the event was simply amazing – you could really feel the energy and camaraderie, with everyone supporting each other all the way through. It makes me proud to be part of a team that stands up for such an important cause and makes a difference together.”
We also had a very special colleague on our cycling team again this year, Anne Mørk Christoffersen, who is a Bid Manager at Compass Group. Anne is battling cancer and has experienced firsthand how much of a difference a fundraising event like this can make.
After participating, Anne said:
“It made perfect sense for me to hop in the saddle while I had the energy for it, and Compass Group made it possible. You get such a high from being part of it – the music, the camaraderie, the atmosphere, and knowing you’re making a difference. It’s awesome!”
Our amazing employees together cycled nearly 670 kilometers and helped contribute to the more than 3 million DKK raised by the event. A huge thank you to everyone, both within and outside of Compass Group, for the fantastic effort!
