Debate on The Organic Label: let’s keep it

We will be speaking out on Monday in Fødevarewatch alongside Økologiske Landsforening, advocating for the importance of long-term funding for the Organic Cuisine Label.

The negotiations for next year’s finance act did not result in additional funding for the label, meaning it appears set to disappear after 2025.

At Compass Group, we are deeply concerned about the recurring uncertainty surrounding the Organic Cuisine Label.

We see the label as a catalyst for the transition to more organic practices across our 350 cafeterias. As Anne-Sofie Hattesen, our ESG Manager, states about the phase-out in Fødevarewatch:

“It’s truly unfortunate, especially when the government has a goal to double organic production by 2030.”

The Organic Cuisine Label is a vital strategic tool in the daily operations of our cafeterias. It serves as a benchmark in our green transition and stands for quality, credibility, and transparency.

“In our view, long-term funding is crucial to our continued efforts to increase the organic percentage year after year.

The current uncertainty undermines these efforts and makes it difficult to ensure that we are all working consistently toward a shared goal,” says our ESG Manager to Fødevarewatch.
