Expertise on the Menu. Piemonte on the Plate

What Does It Taste Like When Compass Group Draws Culinary Inspiration from the Heart of Italy?

That was the question a team of chefs and client managers took with them to Piemonte—a region where ingredients are treated with the same respect as art, and where a passion for quality is felt in everything from field to plate.

The purpose was clear: to give our teams fresh inspiration and shared knowledge to bring back home. Because when we are inspired together, it reflects in the entire dining experience, ultimately benefiting the customers and guests taking the first bite.

The program included:

  • Visits to local wine and food producers

  • A visit to the University of Gastronomic Sciences

  • A sensory tasting activity in the laboratory for sensory analysis

It was a trip that engaged all the senses—and most importantly, the sense of taste. And where better to explore it than in the culinary heart of Italy?

It was an investment in flavor, pride, and community:

“This is actually the fifth year in a row that we have sent a team to Piemonte. We do it because we see it has a huge positive impact on our colleagues’ motivation and on the dining experience for our guests.

As a leading canteen company, we see it as a natural part of our culture to offer these opportunities to our employees,” says Kristian Hofman Bang, Operations Director responsible for our food business.

For us at Compass Group, it’s not just a trip—it’s an investment in professional pride, teamwork, and quality.

Christian Paradisi, a head chef at one of our canteens, reflects on the journey:

“I came home with a strong sense of pride in being part of Compass Group.”

That sums up what the trip was really about: people, connections, and moments. Not just new knowledge, but emotions and camaraderie that travel back with us and add value in everyday life.

Most importantly, the inspiration spreads all the way to our customers and guests.

Bravissimo, Italy—we’ll see you again!
