Maersk Oil opens new headquarters with Compass Group as facility management partner

It has just been announced that Maersk Oil’s newly built headquarter office at Amerika Plads in Copenhagen will be supported by a full Facility Management contract from Compass Group under Eurest Services.

When the 600 employees start working in their new premises 2 October, it will be with Compass Group providing services from catering to cleaning and much more.

When dialogue and experience come together

Compass Group and Maersk Oil first initiated their partnership in 2015 with Compass Group providing FM services to Maersk Oil’s Esbjerg office. This has been a successful collaboration characterised by a high level of customer satisfaction. So, when Maersk Oil was looking for new partner for their headquarters, Compass Group naturally submitted a proposal.

Through constructive dialogue with Head of Project Management Office, Anne Holmen Jensen, and Head of Commercial, Nikolaj Daugberg, both parties entered into yet another partnership. The contract encompasses multiple services within catering, cleaning and facility management, including property-, space- and waste management, security, reception desk, mail handling, handyman services, window cleaning, pest control, maintenance of outdoor areas and indoor plants, and employee welfare services.

According, to Anne Holmen Jensen, this contact is a testament to the productive and positive dialogue between the two: “A big part of any contract is matching expectations. During negotiations, we pulled on both the Operational Team and Transition Team which enabled Maersk Oil to get a clear sense of the services, we would provide. Furthermore, we could show them a solution, we provide for one of our other business partners, which would also correspond to their needs.”

She continues: “We pulled on our expertise as a leading FM provider, while continuing the connection already established in our existing partnership. I believe this provided Maersk Oil with the assurance that we could provide the best possible solution for them.” Anne similarly emphasises that a contributing factor was Compass Group’s ability to provide the right price in the first offer as well as the right partners and subcontractors.

It doesn’t stop there

The close collaboration did not stop once the contract was signed. Once the Maersk Oil building was completed Compass Group’s Contract Manager, Bo Terp, has been on site continuously acting as a sparring partner to ensure delivery of a great service.

The official start date for the contract is 2 October 2017.
