The Can-do Award

At Compass Group, people are at the centre of everything we do, and every day our talented colleagues do a fantastic job of delivering great service and delicious dining experiences to our guests.

Therefore, we have introduced an award to recognise our colleagues in operations for their admirable dedication and can-do attitude.

“The can-do approach is at the core of what we want to stand for at Compass Group Denmark. It is the very special, unique, positive drive with which we meet daily opportunities and challenges, and where we always have the guests’ experience as our focus. It is seeing opportunities rather than limitations, and it’s being a good colleague that strengthens the community.”
Zanne Burø, Managing Director, Compass Group Northern Europe

Danish classes and sustainability

The reasons for winning the award are many. The first award was handed out back in the spring, when Edyta Tobys & Katazyna Jachimiak from the Cleaning team at FLSmidth were recognised for their can-do attitude in regard to learning Danish. In the second round, the award went to the team from the University of Copenhagen Amager, who are doing inspiring work in sustainability and developing vegetarian recipes.

SURPRISE!

For the latest winners of the award, it was quite a surprise party. Their managers had kept the good news a secret from the team until Zanne and Director of Operations, Kristian Hofman, suddenly appeared in the Wicked Rabbit canteen with music, balloons and high spirits. Zanne had also brought a diploma for the team and gave them a few words of praise to explain why they had won the award:

“You are doing a fantastic job with sustainability. What you do every single day is a huge inspiration for everyone in Compass Group with your green meeting service, Folkekøkkenet and the creation of delicious vegetarian recipes. You have also won the award because you are you. You all contribute to the very special KUA atmosphere which makes it a fantastic place to visit with potential customers or colleagues from home and abroad. So, thank you so much for that!”

Congratulations to the first winners of the Can-do award, Edyta, Katazyna and the entire KUA team! We are proud to have you as colleagues and we can’t wait to see who will follow in your footsteps as Can-do ambassadors.
