At Compass Group Denmark, we actively support the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Compass Group PLC has identified nine of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals where we believe our organisation can make the greatest difference globally.

At Compass Group, we use the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a common language and a clear framework for our efforts, helping us prioritise the areas where we can make the greatest positive impact.

2. End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture

We tackle food waste in our kitchens through initiatives such as Compass Group’s annual global Stop Food Waste Day campaign. We also work with our customers and partners to develop nutritious meals.

3. Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages

At Compass Group, we focus on employee wellbeing, a safe and healthy working environment, and creating nutritious and delicious meals.

5. Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

At Compass Group, we promote gender equality by ensuring equal access to opportunities and resources for everyone, regardless of gender.

8. Promote sustainable, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all

We promote fair working conditions through employee wellbeing, inclusion and a strong culture that recognises and celebrates our people, including through People Appreciation Week.

We also train our kitchen staff and provide ongoing skills development to support their growth and ability to implement new solutions in their daily work.

12. Ensure sustainable consumption and production

We work systematically to reduce food waste, increase plant-based meals, and improve our purchasing and operations.

13. Act swiftly to combat climate change and its impacts

Our organisation has set ambitious emissions reduction targets, formally validated by the SBTi.

14. Preserve and ensure sustainable use of the world’s oceans and resources

We focus on responsible sourcing of fish and seafood, set requirements for our suppliers, and work to reduce plastic and packaging in our operations.

15. Protect, restore, and support sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, combat desertification, halt land degradation, and halt biodiversity loss

Compass Group focuses on responsible sourcing of raw materials and sets supplier requirements that support sustainable food supply chains.

17. Strengthen the global partnership for sustainable development and increase resources to achieve the goal

We work closely with our customers, suppliers and partners to develop solutions.

40 Years of People, Service and Growth: Gitte Celebrates Her Anniversary at Compass Group
When Gitte Resdal joined Compass Group as an 18-year-old in 1986, she started out with a washing-up brush in her hand and a gap-year job ahead of her. What was meant to be a temporary job became the beginning of a 40-year career filled with growth, new challenges and strong relationships. Over the years, Gitte has held a wide range of roles, from dishwasher and cook to management positions and Client Manager. The opportunity to develop within the company and work closely with both clients and colleagues has been key to her long career. Today, she is being celebrated for four decades of dedication to Compass Group.

Two Directors in Uniform: Compass Group Celebrates Reservists and Volunteers on Uniform at Work Day
On Uniform at Work Day, Compass Group highlights the many reservists and volunteers who support Denmark’s defence and emergency preparedness alongside their civilian careers. Both CEO Thomas Kempf and Client Success Director Janus Rønstrup serve in the Danish Armed Forces Reserve and marked the day by wearing their uniforms at work. Organised by InterForce Denmark, the initiative recognises individuals who dedicate their spare time to maintaining critical skills and being ready to serve when needed. Compass Group is proud of their commitment and the valuable experience, leadership and sense of purpose they bring back into the organisation.

From Staff Dining to Concert Experiences: Compass Group Expands Partnership with DR
Compass Group Denmark is expanding its partnership with DR by taking over the kitchen operations at Restaurant KLANG in DR Concert Hall. The collaboration builds on the company’s existing responsibility for staff dining facilities at DR Byen and DR Aarhus, where around 2,500 meals are served daily. Through Restaurant KLANG, Compass Group will help create the culinary setting for some of Denmark’s largest cultural events. The ambition is to make dining a natural part of the overall concert experience, combining gastronomy, hospitality and culture. The goal is to deliver a seamless guest journey from arrival to the final applause.
