Good Food Should Be Eaten, Not Wasted.
At Compass Group, we work every day to make that a reality.
Today, September 29, is Denmark’s National Food Waste Day—a reminder that even small steps in everyday life can make a big difference.
We take those steps together, both in Denmark and as part of Compass Group globally, where we have set an ambitious goal: to halve our food waste by 2030.
For Compass Group Denmark, this means aiming for:
40 g of food waste per guest per day
60 g per day including food leftovers
Every day, across our 350 canteens nationwide, we are already taking action, for example:
Training kitchen teams and sharing ideas across sites
Developing recipes that make full use of ingredients
Measuring where waste occurs to improve every day
Giving food a second chance through ‘Empty the Buffet’
Engaging kitchens and guests to reduce food waste
Collaborating with customers and partnering with initiatives like Danmark mod Madspild and One/Third
As part of Compass Group globally, we also mark our own Stop Food Waste Day every year, going further to inspire, raise awareness, and act together against food waste.
By using food to its fullest, we create more value for our guests, our community, and the overall dining experience.
Good food deserves to be eaten.
