On June 10th, our talented colleagues Sine Andersen and Lena Steffie Clausen at the ALFA Development canteen made it through the nomination process for the Canteen Award of the Year. They are now among the three finalists competing for the Canteen Award 2024.
The Canteen Award is organized by Landbrug & Fødevarer, in collaboration with the Organic Agriculture Foundation and Next Generation EU.
We are proud that ALFA Development has nominated Compass Group’s canteen for this award. The criteria for nomination range from selecting seasonal ingredients to promoting organic produce and reducing food waste.
Anders Nicolajsen, jury member and chief consultant for foodservice at Landbrug & Fødevarer, states:
“The criteria are extensive and ambitious, but it truly reflects the high level that many canteens in Denmark deliver. It has never been easy to be hailed as the country’s best, but this year it is even harder, and that is intentional. The lunch experience has become an essential part of a company’s DNA, and this is evident when asking canteens to put words and actions behind their concepts. It requires a broad framework but is geared to truly reward the very best.”
Now, preparations are underway as we head towards the final on Bornholm in June, in conjunction with the culinary competition: Sol over Gudhjem.
Congratulations also to our skilled co-finalists: Søborg Tower with head chef Kim Bjørklund and team from ISS Denmark, and Aamanns Køkken with head chef Carsten Hughson and team.
