It is with great pride that we have just received our new certificate, documenting that we have retained the Nordic Swan Ecolabel across our entire cleaning service.
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel, issued by Ecolabelling Denmark, is the official and most widely recognized environmental label in the Nordic region and one of the world’s most stringent environmental certifications. It documents that our cleaning service has a reduced environmental impact.
This time, the requirements were even stricter, which has required an enormous effort from everyone in our cleaning division to achieve this result. One of the requirements is that at least 90% of our cleaning chemicals must be environmentally certified. Today, we have reached an impressive 98%.
At Compass Group, we are responsible for cleaning services for more than 200 Danish companies. Over the past year alone, we have experienced customer growth of 58%, yet we have succeeded in growing our business without increasing our consumption of cleaning chemicals.
Henrik Bjerke Jensen, Director of Operations, Cleaning at Compass Group, shares his perspective on the effort:
“It requires a strong focus on training and education from all our passionate service managers, and we have introduced new methods.
With a dedicated approach to training and a strong focus on sourcing Nordic Swan Ecolabelled products, we have streamlined and consolidated our product range to make everyday operations simpler. A great deal of effort has gone into this process, and ambitious targets were set to ensure recertification.
I am proud that at Compass Group we have such a strong cleaning team that has trained, retrained and ensured the best possible conditions for both our customers and employees. Achieving this result requires focused effort from every single employee.”
